Easter
If you ask my son what is Easter, he will tell you the truth. "Jesus rose from the dead!" And why did He die? "So we could go to heaven!"
That, is the meaning of Easter. John 3:16 has been on repeat in my head almost all day. The sacrifice. The death. The LIFE.
Being a mother is amazing. Every day I look at them with such love. Unconditional love. No matter what they do, no matter what, I love them so intensely. When I lay them down, I want nothing more than to pick them back up and hold them a little longer. I hold their hand and walk with them, enjoying every minute.
One of the things this has shown me, is how God loves us. He loves even more than we can comprehend. He longs to hold us, to walk with us, and He loves our conversations. We are, after all, His children and He is our Father.
On this day, long ago, Jesus rose from the tomb. God's own Son had died on the cross for our sins, so that we may one day enter into heaven. No one is worthy, we all fall short of the glory of God. However, because of His sacrifice, we are forgiven. On the third day after His death, Jesus broke from the bounds of death, and rose. If only we could have been there, to see His hands and His feet. To touch the nail holes and look upon His face.
He doesn't ask much in return. His request is simple. Love Him and believe. Believe that he died on the cross for our salvation. Believe that through Him we are forgiven. That through Him we are saved.
So on this day, as I enjoy the good food and eat my fill of lactose free candy, I will know. This day is not about the Easter bunny, or the special gift baskets, but instead is about our Savior. Our Jesus.
Thank you Lord for dying on the cross. Thank You for your forgivness. Thank You for rising on the third day.

However, the Easter bunny did come!
Just ask Austin who had a blast but hated getting pictures taken!
He even brought me my very own basket and look at what was inside...
HAPPY EASTER!
