house of sickies!!

Well...
Both boys caught Adam's cold! Poor things!
Austin at least can take medicine though, poor Ej can only have saline drops and vicks rub.
This could not have come at a worse time since his appointment is Monday. Whenever he is sick, he always looses weight. Plus, if he spikes a fever (praying he doesn't) he will have to be admitted and Christmas is less than week away.
The part of his immune system that fights viral infections works well, so as long as this remains viral, he should be fine. If he develops a secondary bacterial infection, that is what can become VERY dangerous as he has nothing to fight bacteria with. So I am praying this passes quickly and that he maintains his appetite!
I always do soup and "honey bee" when someone in my family is sick. Austin loves honey bee! It is a simple water, lemon, and honey mixture we drink warm. It is sooo soothing!
What do you all do when you or a love one is ill?
I have read about filling a pillow case (or sock) with rice and putting some essential oils in it and warming it in the microwave. Do any of you do that? I am thinking of making one for Austin.

As long as I don't catch it, we should be okay. Adam was in bed for three days with it, and as we all know, Mommies don't get time off to be sick!! So I am hoping I can get away with staying healthy! Hand sanitizer is my best friend!!!

Well, this weekend I am so busy, packing, cleaning, tending to ill little ones, and preparing for Christmas! So I probably won't be back till after our appointment on monday! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

I am so sorry they ended up catching it! I will say an extra prayer for Ej today! Also I love the idea of the warm rice sock. My mom use to do that in the winter time to warm our bed. I bet that would help a lot.

You are so right, mommy never gets time off to be sick! Praying for Ej but praying that you don't catch it!

Putting the crib on an angle and running a humidifier always help us! Keegan's runny nose went away about a week ago, but we're still running the humidifier to keep it away! Saying extra prayers for y'all!

Hope your babies get well soon. I think I have the same junk & have had it almost a week. It's no fun!

God please place your protective hands over this family. Help mommy to not get sick and remain strong to care for these two precious baby boys. Please keep EJ's immune system strong and able to fight this "bug" without loosing weight. Thank you for your son and help us all to remember what Christmas is all about!

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

Poor little guys!! I will be lifting both boys up in prayer and specifically praying EJ's illness won't turn into a bacterial infection.

Thanks for your comment on my blog today! I look forward to getting to know you better through your blog!!

Merry Christmas!!

Oh poor darlings..I hope they both get over it very quickly. I hate when my little jacq gets a cold..and they are all clogged up and cant sleep right. I put the vaporiser on in his bedroom with two teaspoons of vicks vapour drops? Not sure what you guys would use over there in the US...something similar?
Plenty of fluids...they lose their appetite but its important to keep them hydrated. I also sometimes place a pillow underneath the top half of the mattress of Jacqs cot if his nose is really blocked..to have the mattress at a slight angle..so there head is a little elevated so they can breath easier...but all of this Im sure you already know..and know what works best for you boys x
