So on the coolest summer day yet, we decided to take advantage of the 85 degrees.
Here are my little boys, being boys.

possibilities

Well here we are at the end of summer. For us, school starts Monday. I have been talking so much about homeschooling and I can't believe the time has actually come. It is time to put on my teacher hat and dive in.
This past week has brought a whirl wind of emotion and I am still processing it all.
For starters
1. I quit my work from home job which was bittersweet and complex for me. I am adjusting though and anxious to follow Gods calling for me right now. God has been speaking to me for a while now about being still, being submissive to His divine will, and being hopeful in our new path. Finally, after much debate, I am ready for this next step. (I have no idea why I even bother to debate with God, but I do it all the time. Maybe if I learned to acknowledge that He knows know me best and our situation best, and the wants what is best for me, I would be so much better off and less stressed out. So much of being a Christian is not seeing ourselves as Christ-like (because we are not) but seeing ourselves for what we are-needing Christ. I know I am nothing without Him.)

2. We found out Adam got a promotion! This is huge for our family in so many ways. I am so proud of him and how hard he has worked since we moved to Texas. It isn't easy starting over in life and he has done it with grace and strength. I love that man!

3. Also we found out our pastor is leaving the end of this month and we are heartbroken. Although the church was not built on our pastors shoulders (it was built on Jesus), I am so sad to see him leave. He inspired, encouraged, and taught that you have NEVER locked eyes with someone with whom Jesus wasn't madly in love with. Our church is a church that DOES, that SERVES, and LOVES, and I hope and pray that foundation will remain.

Yes I just did bullet points. Call me crazy but life is hectic and sometimes my type-A self can only process things with numbers or bullets in front. :)

So here is to change, new starts, new beginnings, and new possibilities. I'm so excited!

Not the best picture, but what a beautiful rainbow. God is so good all the time, but especially during storms.

My little rainbow watcher. Adam and Austin were out on an adventure and EJ and I played outside.

home is where the heart is

Photobucket
Well this summer has been so incredibly hot that we can't do much outside. It is awful that aside from taking Bella out, we do not venture out at all. SO the days have been filled with lots of toys and games and learning. I like the flow of our days and all the activities but I long for fall cool breezes and long walks at the park. I love being outside and can't wait for cooler air!!!
Photobucket
Something that has also happened this summer is a bit of decorating. Now I will tell you up front I am no decorator!!! I look at decor sites with awe. But being in the same frumpy rooms all summer inspired me to do something.
Photobucket
I already showed you the boys room, but I have also been working on our living room and our bedroom. I will show pictures of those soon I promise! However this post is about these beauties!!! My new apothecary jars!
Do you remember when I posted about getting to review an item for CSN? Well I choose these jars and I am so thrilled with them. I had been wanting some for a very long time and finally get to call them my own! When they arrived, they were packed perfectly insulated and were more beautiful than I had imagined. Right now they just contain a few random things, but wait till fall my friends. Just wait! I have a whole wonderful magical idea of what fall will bring to my home and hopefully it will at least resemble a smidgen of what that vision holds LOL!
But seriously, your home is where your heart is, and why not a home you love? CSN offers everything you could possibly want from children's furniture and toys to everything kitchen.
So if you need something check out their over 200 stores, and you wont be let down!

And here is a video of my precious boys. See how Austin just man handles little EJ. Brotherly love...

18 months

Photobucket
Well sweet boy you are officially a year and a half! I can not believe how big you are now. I never could have imagined all that you are now!
Photobucket
You are definitely going, going, gone most days. You do your best to keep up with your big brother and seek out mischief to get into. you love to be read to and your love for books is something I cherish. You love to snuggle, especially me, and despite your fierce independence, you rely on me a lot. You don't hesitate to go off on your own and do your thing but you always come and check in with me. You don't nap most days and our nights are still a bit rough. You wake 2-5 times a night but usually it is only for a few minutes each time. Since we still are cosleeping we both get back to sleep quickly. You are still nursing about 5 times a day as well and you love it. I don't for see you weaning anytime soon.
Photobucket
You vocabulary is blooming beautifully and as of right now you can say:
Mama (it melts my heart when you run to me saying my name!), Dada, Bubba, Bella, Ball, Bow, Bible, Baby, stinky, uhhh ohhh, whoa, touch down, action, your version of "lamby"-your lovey, you attempt to say "love you", night night, there he is, and just today you were practicing popsicle! You also say please very well :)
Photobucket
You run constantly and LOVE to play catch. You really like bugs too. You do not like going to the nursery at church at all and I don't know if we are going to continue to try. You get so upset and are clingy and off for the rest of the day. However, you are getting better around strangers. You let my sisters and cousins hold you and play with you. Maybe you know they are family!
Photobucket
You are definitely a water baby and love anything that may get you wet. This includes baths and even Bella's water bowl. Messes are your favorite and you will dump anything that doesn't have a lid.
Photobucket
I still think your hair will be red at this point but we will see. Your eyes are turning green and I love them. You have 8 teeth completely in but your top molars are almost all the way in. You are cutting your bottom molars right now and you are miserable. You recognize oragel when I bring it out and you love it!
Photobucket
You love art and will color for an hour. You love music and have to listen to it at least once a day.
You are bright beautiful and full of life. I truly enjoy every minute! I love you sweet boy!!!
