sinking

Matthew 14: 25-32
Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.
But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”  “Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

Last night I was really needing some biblical encouragement and this story was on my heart. Right now we are in moving chaos. Chaos meaning I have to move this Sunday (I have delayed it twice now) and we don't have a place to move into yet. Our realtor is in overdrive and I am so thankful for all her hard work. However, we are moving Sunday and HAVE NO HOUSE YET. Crazy right? We currently have an application on a house and it is looking promising but they could still come back and say no. We should hear something by tomorrow. I guess it is a good thing I am good with crazy. This last year of being a single mom to three, having that third baby, mending a marriage (praise God), full time school, starting my own business, and oh yeah, life, I have found my way in the middle of crazyville more than once. Practice make perfect I suppose. However, I really want this to go well. I really want a little bit of settling now, a little bit of calm. I really want this house. I tell myself I will be fine without it, and I will be. But I really want it :)

Can I also say that trying to pack and organize a last minute move while having double mastitis and thrush is so much fun. Like I said, crazy!

So anyway, back to that scripture. When Peter starting sinking he immediately called out for Jesus to save him. No hesitation, no trying to swim or flapping around helpless. He cried out immediately. And what did Jesus do? Scripture said he immediately reached out and grabbed him and saved him.  Immediate. No talking Peter through it, no instruction, no judgement. He saved him immediately. Then, once safely on the ship, He asked Peter why he had doubted. The rescue came first.

I want a relationship like that. For me to run to Him and immediately cry out to Him when I am sinking. For me to know He will be there. No hesitation. And for Jesus, to then immediately grab me. Scripture say if we call to Jesus, we will be saved. I am so so grateful for a Jesus who saves.

So in all this, I will not break down like a person who is sinking in water and doesn't know how to swim. Instead of flailing around, I will also call out to Him for peace, strength, wisdom, and above all, Him timing in this. And you know what happens next? Yep, me too :)

life during a move

Well we are almost finished packing but the move has been delayed a little bit. Finding a house is not going as smoothly as we had hoped. Really praying we can move forward soon! Adam started a new job today and I am so so proud of him and all his hard work! So life is a bit hectic but despite that, life must go on! Here are some little insights into our crazy daily life :)

EJ is turning THREE

Feisty, loving, cuddly, demanding, loud, snuggly, sweet, sincere, wild, little love bug!
Somehow you are turning three in just five days! This year has healed so much for you. You are now on track  developmentally, you are learning and growing everyday. You are still small for your age but you are finally starting to fit in 3 T clothing! Therapy and illness are behind us now and I am just in awe of all you have conquered and all you have overcome. You are an inspiration!!
You are still so very loving. You love to give "gungles" and kisses and you LOVE to sing. Your voice is just so precious. Your favorite things right now are dinosaurs and trains. We just recently found the show "dinosaur train" and I think you are in heaven every time you watch it.
Your happiness in contagious and your smile is just about the best thing in the world. You randomly tell me you love me all the time and it melts my heart. I also hear you copy what I say when you repeat things back to Matthew. Yesterday I heard you tell him, "Hey there love bug". You are too cute for words.
You do not like it when when I tell you not to do something. You yell at me to stop yelling at you even though I wasn't yelling! You don't throw many tantrums but when you do they can get bad. You mostly only do that when Austin is involved! You love Austin to bits but also drive each other crazy. Such is the life of siblings. But even so, you would rather play with him any day than play alone.
You are starting to get your own snacks and juice boxes now. You will open the fridge and look through it, or grab a banana. You still need help putting the straw in the juice box but your independence is growing so much lately. Potty training is still a ways off but you are going pee in the potty every once in a while. I think we will really tackle it over the summer.
Your favorite foods are chicken nuggets, cheese sticks, cottage cheese, milk, juice, pickles, chicken, hot dogs, beans, asparagus, french bread dipped in olive oil with spices, and pasta. And of course, you will do anything for chocolate! We have started doing good bucks with you when you do something good, and time outs when you didn't do a good job listening, Like when you wont stop hitting Austin with a toy :) When Austin isn't here you love to snuggle on the couch and watch a movie with me. When outside you are all energy and you love to play with other kids. You are not as shy as Austin was.
Your green eyes and crazy, crazy blond curls make my life so bright. I don't know what I would do without you EJ and I am so very thankful I have you. You are my little buddy and I wouldn't change a thing about you!!!  I can't wait till we move so we can have your party! It will be dinosaur fun!! Happy 3 years sweet boy. May this year be the best yet!!!!

healthy, godparents, and a super six month old!!!

Well it has been way too long since my last post but I finally caught the bug and was under the weather for a bit. BUT we are all better and enjoying the gorgeous weather we are having!

While I was offline, my cousin from California came in town. Amber is a best friend and my boys god mother. We are blessed to have her in our lives and they love their Aunt Amber!
We all went to some shops nearby and they have a play area with trains and a huge Texas maze for the kids. The boys had so much fun running around. I don't why we are having such warm weather this winter but it can stay this way! Hopefully it doesn't mean we will have another record breaking summer as well.

I think it is high time Ej got his first hair cut! Ha! I just love his blond curls though. Even when they are crazy!

Amber and I!! We never get pictures of us together so we made that a priority this time :)

Amber and Matthew

And guess what!? In just a blink of an eye, my little peanut turned SIX months! Not quite sure how in the world he is six months. Love this boy!!!!!

He is still extremely demanding these days. Stills creams when the car stops and still screams when I put him down! Still nurses a lot and is still up about 3-5 times a night.

He has been talking up a storm though lately. Dada is his favorite word but he just loves to babble and "sing". As long as you are playing with him or holding him, he is the happiest baby ever.

His hair continues to come in lighter and his eyes are still really blue. They are getting a bit of gold around the pupil though.

He naps about three times a day but it is crazy. I am trying so hard to get him on a good schedule but it is so hard with the other two boys. Most days he naps on me for two naps and I can get one nap in his crib.

He is teething STILL but no teeth have come in yet. However, if you have a shortage of drool, we have plenty extra :)

He loves Praise baby dvds and loves the itsy bitsy spider sung over and over with hand motions!

He still rolls over but crawling is still a ways off and he cant lift his big ole belly off the ground yet ha!!

He is really smart and remembers how to play with certain toys. He knows what buttons to push or that doing a certain action makes it play music. He LOVES to play. I think he may give EJ a run for his money. :)

Happy six months sweet boy!!!!!!!!
